Mamelodi Sundowns Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Masinde Onyango says his Premier Soccer League (PSL) Player for the Month of April Award is reward for his hard work.

The ex-SC Villa goalkeeper was voted after keeping six clean sheets out of the seven games as the team rediscovered their form to put pressure on log leaders, Bidvest Wits.

“I am happy to win this award,” said Onyango, adding, “It’s in recognition for the hard work I have put in.”

Despite being three points behind of Wits with three games to complete the season, the African player of the Year – Based in Africa – believes Sundowns can still retain the title.

“We still believe that we can win the league. We will keep fighting.” Onyango’s monthly recognition follows his five consecutive clean sheets in the league, which have catapulted Sundowns to second place on the log standings.
