The wait is over. The 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season will kick off on September 13 after the competition secretariat released fixtures on Friday night.
Thirteen-time champions, KCCA, welcome four-time winners, URA, to the MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday, September 13 in what is widely seen as Matchday One headliner.
Matchday One spreads across four days from Friday to Monday with all 16 clubs in action.
Champs Villa at home
Saturday serves up a double header at Hamz Nakivubo Stadium with newcomers Lugazi facing Kitara and Express taking on the other new boys, Mbale Heroes.
Wakiso Giants host Soltilo Bright Stars on the following day, while Maroons welcome NEC to Luzira and six-time champions Vipers SC entertain UPDF at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Home ground changes
Matchday One wraps up on Monday with newcomers Police hosting BUL and reigning Champions SC Villa kicking off their title defence against Mbarara City at the Jogoos new home.
The new season comes with some changes in home grounds. SC Villa have moved to Mandela National Stadium, Namboole having played their home games at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku last season.
Express also left their ‘eternal home’ Wankulukuku to Nakivubo, while Kitara have shifted from Masindi Municipal Stadium to The Royals Park in Butema, Hoima.
