- Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku 4pm
SC Villa and Vipers will look to continue their title charge when they face off at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
Vipers have an opportunity to go joint top with maximum points as they are now only three points behind leaders Kitara but have a better goal difference.
For Villa, it will be moving into second place, a point behind Kitara who are on 44 points although like Vipers, Villa will still a game in hand over both Kitara and second placed BUL.
Richard Wasswa who was officially name caretaker coach replacing Mbabazi knows it will be a tough game but he believes they will win.
“We expect a tough game but it’s the hard work and determination that we hope will secure us all points,” said Wasswa. “The preparations like for every other game have been good and its all systems go,” he added.
Hakim Kiwanuka, scorer of the winning goal the last time Villa won at home admits his side’s weakness has been failure to convert the numerous chances they create but says the coaches have worked on that.
“We believe that whatever the coaches have given us going into this fixture will help us come out successful,” Kiwanuka told the club website.
“We’ve worked on our finishing since we’ve been creating enough chances recently but not converting to our maximum. Every one of us is ready to take on the task ahead tomorrow.”
Gavin Kizito and Misi Ssemugera missed the draw at Busoga due to suspension but are available for Villa after missing out on the last game due to suspension.
Vipers could be without right back Ashraf Mandela with his booking against UPDF taking his tally to three cards which results into suspension.
