Circumstances of the case:
It was reported in the referee’s match report of 30th August 2019 that, Police FC failed
to turn up for the match against Onduparaka FC at Luzira Prisons Ground.
Police FC did not respond to the charges.
Legal framework:
Article 24 of the FUFA Competitions rules establishes that, “A club failing to turn up
for any league/competition match shall submit a written explanation to the TOC within
forty eight hours from the date of the match.”
Decision:
The CDP in considering the case noted that;
Police FC did not turn up for the Star times Uganda Premier League match against
Onduparaka FC on 30th August 2019 contrary to the FUFA Competition Rules.
Police FC did not submit a written explanation within forty eight hours contrary to the
Competition rules.
Police FC also failed to respond to the disciplinary charges.
Accordingly, the Competitions Disciplinary Panel orders that;
1. Police FC lose the match against Onduparaka FC by forfeiture and be
docked three points and three goals from those to be accumulated in
accordance with art.24 par.10 of the rules which states that “...the defaulting
club shall lose the match by forfeiture and shall be docked three (3) points and
three (3) goals from those already accumulated or to be accumulated in event
that the defaulting club is the away club”
2. That the table standings be updated accordingly.
