Wakiso Giants 1-2 Express
Tooro United 1-2 Soltilo Bright Stars
Outgoing StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions, Express, pressed on with business on Wednesday, beating Wakiso Giants 2-1 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
In fourth place on 42 points, a massive 13 behind leaders Vipers SC, and having played two games more, Express’ chances of defending the title are almost nonexistent.
But after edging rivals SC Villa last week, they followed that with another victory over Wakiso Giants to just push the highest finish they can master.
The Red Eagles had skipper Enock Walusimbi’s brace to thank for against a battling Wakiso, who got their consolation through Moses Aliro in between the visitors’ goals.
Almost assured to stay up, Wakiso Giants remain seventh on 36 points.
In Fort Portal, Soltilo Bright Stars picked up another massive three points in their quest to beat the drop when they edged condemned Tooro United 2-1.
Emmanuel Loki and Pilsner Man of The Match Derrick Ngobi scored for Bright Stars while Apollo Kagogwe got Tooro’s consolation. Both remain in the bottom three.
