Nsibambi celebrates his goal against Onduparaka

KCCA made light work of visiting Onduparaka with a deserved 4-1 victory to move top of the 2017/18 Azam Uganda Premier League.

Derrick Nsibambi opened the floodgates with an easy strike after being gifted by a poor back pass from left back Simba Sabir.

Before then, Allan Okello, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Nsibambi had forced world class saves from Onduparaka’s best player on the day, Nicholas Sebwato.

Nsibambi’s goal was the only one at half time as both teams went into the break.

Leo Adraa called his first change of the game with Rajab Kakooza paving way for Living Kabon but it was KCCA that scored again when Muhammad Rashid miscued Muzamiru Mutyaba chip into his own net.

Patrick Kaddu in action against Onduparaka

Substitutes Jackson Nunda and Tito Okello made it 3-0 and 4-0 respectively in the 85th and 88th minutes.

But it was Nunda’s goal who had come on for Allan Okello who left the crowd stunned.

After receiving a headed ball from Patrick Kaddu, Nunda beat off his marker Rashid, sent Sebwato on the floor with a dummy before slotting home.

Rashid made amends for his own goal with a consolation for the visitors in the last of the three added minutes.

The win, KCCA’s first of the campaign took them top of the log with a superior goal difference over Mbarara City who drew 1-1 with Bright Stars in Kakyeeka.

Nelson Senkatuka scored for Bright Stars in Mbarara

Nelson Senkatuka put the visitors into an eleven minute lead before Eleaza Okori equalised in the 44th minute.

In Kavumba, Emmanuel Kalyowa scored a dubious penalty to earn Soana a 1-0 win over new league entrants Masavu while URA and Maroons played to a goalless draw in Luzira.

Action in the league returns with third placed Police hosting Proline at Namboole on Friday afternoon.
