NEC continued their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 1–0 win over BUL at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday.
The victory was sealed by Innocent Media’s 14th-minute finish from Hakim Wandera’s assist.
The result stretched NEC’s unbeaten run to 16 matches, their last defeat coming against KCCA in December, underlining their growing consistency.
Media’s decisive contribution earned him Man of the Match as moved to 47 points in fifth place. BUL are three places below on 34 points.
At Nakivubo, URA and Maroons settled for a 2–2 draw in an evenly contested encounter.
Ivan Mayanja gave Maroons the lead on 23 minutes, assisted by Brian Nkuubi, before Bruno Junior Bunyaga equalised on 28 minutes off Dissan Galiwango’s delivery.
Maroons regained the lead on 58 minutes through Man of the Match Darius Ojok off a Marvin Oshaba assist, but Fred Amaku struck on 69 minutes to restore parity.
Maroons are ninth on 34 points, nine more thank URA, who are two places below.
In Kamwenge, Mbarara surprised Express with a 2–1 victory, the hosts’ only fourth win of the season.
Clinton Kamugisha opened the scoring on eight minutes from Ian Amanya’s assist, before Kenneth Kimera levelled for Express on 15 minutes via Asiimwe Habert.
But Amanya ensured of all three points for Mbarara with the decisive strike on 56 minutes to move the Ankole Lions to 20 points, five and a place off relegation. Express are four places above in 10th on 30 points.
