The saying that an early bird catches the early worm can better be seen at Express. Just a few days into the post 2015-16 Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) season, the club has appointed a new chairperson.
Unlike before, the chairperson of the Wankulukuku side that finished the league in 3rd spot is female and is a serving minister in Uganda’s new cabinet.
Her name is Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, minister in charge of youth and children.
The news was confirmed on the club’s Facebook page insisting it was a decision by the Board of Directors and club patron Prince Kassim Nakibinge.
Owek. Nakiwala Kiyingi was confirmed as the new Express FC chairperson at 11am by the Board of Directors and the Patron Prince Kassim Nakibinge.
The team that will work with Kiyingi will be released according to the communication.
The List of the executive members she will work with will be released by the chairperson herself any time from now.
Club CEO Ram Hadji was equally excited by the development and believes it’s a step forward in the quest to return the six time league champions back to glory days.
“It has been a long process and every one of us is happy with the decision. It’s a step in the right direction,” he told upl.co.ug.
Kiyingi takes over from Francis Ntalazi and her appointed is expected to unite all warring factions at the club.
