Proline 0-4 KCCA
Allan Okello scored a double on the day KCCA welcomed back long-term injury layoff winger Julius Poloto in the 4-0 rout of Proline at Lugogo on Tuesday.
Nicholas Kasozi and Sam Ssenyonjo got the other goals as the two teams wrapped the first round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season.
The result sees KCCA end in second place on the log on 32 points, four behind leaders Vipers SC.
Proline, who lost a match to SC Villa by forfeiture and were docked a further six points, end the first term bottom of the log on nine points.
The hosts, Proline, actually lived with KCCA, who they share a ground with, for the better part of the first half, only succumbing on the stroke of the break as Ssenyonjo slotted home.
They lost their structure further on 68 minutes when Kasozi made it 2-0 and never recovered from then on.
Proline goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya had no answers when Ssenyonjo turned provider, crafting for Okello to make it two goals in as many matches on 68 minutes.
Then there was a moment to behold on 81 minutes when KCCA welcomed back their own.
Out for several months with injury, youngster Poloto received a standing ovation as he replaced goalscorer Ssenyonjo.
Okello, who also scored in KCCA’s other four-goal rout of SC Villa last Friday, completed the romp here with the fourth in added time as manager Mike Mutebi’s men ended the first round in style.
