Sadolin Paints 1-0 Bul
Coach Samadu Msafiri has won his first ever derby in Jinja after Sadolin Paints defeated their arch rivals BUL in a tight game played at Bugembe stadium on Saturday.
Former captain Ronald Lukungu was responsible for the win sending Franco Oringa the wrong side in his 55th minute penalty.
Norman Ojik played well in the beginning after a long ball from Jackson Kibirige in defense found him unmarked in the third minute though his first touch was too heavy and allowed Junior Mukisa to recover and block the goal bound shot for the first corner.
Oringa punched the resulting corner into play but Oryek’s rebound just raised inches over the bar.
Youngster Nazil Muzamir called Oringa into action a minute later with a left foot pile driver that the keeper returned into play but Edgar Luzige blew it wide.
Oringa quickly started the ball with Derrick Walulya only for the defender to send a back pass which the keeper failed to make a long clearance; Luzige picked the ball but hurried to shoot in a one on one situation which was easily tamed.
The hosts pulled back with caution after the failed random attacks and opted to possess the ball from the second third, waiting on counters as the first half ended square.
Bul came too close in the 53rd minute after a superb telepathic combination between Umar Mukobe and Junior Mukisa ended at Augustine Nsumba’s foot and hit it hard only to rattle the right apex.
Sadolin initiated a long counter attack through Oryek, Ogik and Luzige but Mukisa was forced to bring down the latter when he unlocked the twin anchormen and entered the box.
Lukungu stepped over and sent the ball to the right angle while Oringa fell on his left.
Bul’s final chance to equalize was flagged off in the 92nd minute after Mukisa was ruled to be off when he scored from Paul Kibande’s right cross.
Sadolin have now collected 34 points while Bul have 29 in the 11th place.
