Daniel Sserunkuma’s impressive form in Vipers colours continued on Tuesday as the acquisition from Express scored his second and third goals for the club and his ninth of the league season in the 2-0 victory over Mbarara City.
The result gives Sserunkuma’s team a two-point lead at the top of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) log.
This was advantage well taken by coach Miguel Da Costa’s men on a day hitherto leaders SC Villa, and KCCA were both not in action.
Vipers now have 35 points after 18 games but have played one and two games more than Villa and KCCA respectively.
Yet, it could have been worse for the visitors, Mbarara, had Sserunkuma not squandered a one on one chance and not missed a penalty.
Mbarara drop to 10th on 21 points after 18 matches. They just four points above the relegation zone.
