Vipers seek to build on the win over Mbarara City before the international break when they visit UPDF in Bombo in one of the eight matches on the day.
Miguel Da Costa’s side, 3rd on the table will battle without midfielder Taddeo Lwanga who is suspended after earning a third yellow card this season but have striker Milton Karisa back.
The Ugandan international missed the 1-0 win over the Ankole Lions due to suspension but is eligible to play and gives the visitors a boost in the attacking area as he leads the goal scoring charts for the club with three goals to his name.
UPDF are second from bottom and have no choice but beat the Venoms if they are to make their chances of survival in the division bright.
In Matugga, Nicholas Ssebwato and Charles Livingstone Mbabazi return to haunt former paymasters when second placed Onduparaka visit Bright Stars.
The lanky goalie has been instrumental for the Caterpillars between the posts and will surely be out to showcase what the Kawempe based side missed by letting him go.
His replacement, Hamza Muwonge has also been in superb form but the game between second and fourth (Bright Stars) may be decided by how Nelson Ssenkatuka and Ceaser Okhuti react in from of goal for the hosts and visitors respectively.
At Luzira, two on form sides in Maroons and Soana face off with each eager to continue with a good run so far.
The hosts, seventh on the log with 13 points from 9 games come into the game on the back of a hard fought 2-2 draw with Police at Namboole while Soana, under interim coach Siraje Katono also picked vital points away to UPDF that keep them 9th with 12 points.
In other games on the day, Kirinya seek to end a two game losing streak with victory over an equally improved Mbarara City at Kyabazinga Grounds, Bugembe.
Charles Ayiekoh’s charges come into the game on the back of 1-0 losses to Police and at home to Soana and this makes the tie a must win.
Kirinya are 10th on the log with 11 points while Mbarara City are two slots adrift with 10 points.
Elsewhere on a busy day, champions KCCA host log leaders Police at Lugogo, SC Villa play away to Bul in Kakindu, URA welcome Proline at Namboole whilst struggling Masavu and Express battle in Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
All games will kick off at 4.30pm save for the game live on TV at Champions stadium, Mwererwe.
