Wakiso edge Express to go four clear

Wakiso Giants 3-2 Express

Wakiso Giants continued their impressive start to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season as they beat Express 3-2 in a pulsating match at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Monday.

Frank Ssebuufu scored a brace for Wakiso and in-form Ibrahim Kasule netted another goal as the Purple Sharks triumphed.

Anwar Ntege also helped himself to a brace for Express but it was only good for a consolation.

Wakiso’s sixth win in 10 matches sees them open a four-point lead at the top to 21.

BUL and Vipers in second and third respectively have played two matches fewer and are in action on Tuesday.

This was Express’ third defeat in nine matches and it keeps them sixth on 14 points.

It is also the Red Eagles second successive defeat after falling 2-0 to Soltilo Bright Stars last week.

In Wakiso, Kasule, in great company of  enterprising Titus Sematimba, Hassan Senyonjo, Moses Aliro and Lawrence Bukenya, continued his magic.

The playmaker run the show again, twice setting up Ssebuufu on eight and 59 minutes.

In between on 26 minutes, Kasule also scored with a thumping header.

Striker Ntege did pull one back on 31 minutes before drawing the sides level on 49, but Kasule and Ssebuufu combined to win it 10 minutes later.
