Wakiso Giants 2-1 Blacks Power
Titus Ssematimba scored the winner as Wakiso Giants beat Blacks Power 2-1 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Friday.
Norman Ojik got the hosts opener in the first half while Michael Siwu netted the visitors consolation late on.
Wakiso’s first victory in three StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches moves them up to seventh on four points.
The story is hardly rosy for league newcomers, Blacks Power. The Lira side remain rooted at the bottom of the 15-team table on one point from four games.
Wakiso went ahead seven minutes to half time when Ojik helped in Frank Ssebufu’s back-heeled pass.
The Purple Sharks doubled their advantage 15 minutes to full time, Pilsner Man of the Match, Ibrahim Kasule, setting up Ssematimba to score.
The visitors did pull one back late on through Siwu but it was a little too late to get anything for their journey.
