Vipers co-coach Fred Muhumuza wants Mandela National stadium, Namboole to host league matches especially with the kind of lift it has had.
Muhumuza was speaking to NBS Sport at the facility and wishes one premier league side uses it a home.
“I just don’t like when we have this kind of facility (Namboole) and it’s not used, and only wait for the national team. I wish a Uganda Premier League team takes it up,” he stated.
“Imagine a weekend with a premier league match here fully packed say SC Villa against another opponent,” he added.
Since the outbreak of Covid19, Namboole hasn’t been used by a premier league side as a home.
Previously, Police, SC Villa, KCCA, Express, defunct Kira Young, SC Victoria University and URA have previously used the venue as a home.
The last and only time in over six years that league matches have been hosted at Namboole was in the 2023/24 season when Villa faced KCCA and then BUL and Vipers in a double header.
