Ten StarTimes Uganda Premier League players have made the 27-man Uganda Cranes squad named by coach Paul Put to face South Sudan in the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Put released the squad on Tuesday. The 10 UPL players, who will be vying for playing time with 17 others that play their football abroad, are from five clubs including KCCA, Kitara, SC Villa, Vipers and BUL.

They are the KCCA lot of Gavin Kizitio, Saidi Mayanja, Shafic Kwikiriza, and Derrick Nsibambi (KCCA FC), as well as Kitara’s Denis Omedi and Jude Ssemugabi (Kitara FC).

Villa have Arnold Odongo and Ronald Ssekiganda in there while Allan Okello comes in for Vipers SC and Nicholas Mwere, BUL FC.

Uganda will face South Sudan in a double header with the first leg due on October 11 at Mandela National Stadium and the return leg in Juba four days later.

The team will enter a residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel on October 6.

Uganda have four points from the opening two games having drawn 2-2 against South Africa and a 2-0 win at home against Congo.
