Kirinya-Jinja 0-2 KCCA

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table leaders KCCA kept an arms length on chasers Vipers by beating Kirinya-Jinja 2-0 on Wednesday.

Suleiman Mike Mutyaba was the hero as the forward grabbed a brace for KCCA to move to 52 points, four ahead of Vipers.

“It is a good win against a very competitive Kirinya-Jinja side had more of the ball in the final third,” said the goal scorer, who now has nine goals to his name this season.

The first was a beautiful lob in which the impressive youngster Sadat Anaku, who has been prolific in the youth league, was involved in having been handed a first senior start.

Anaku’s delightful ball then opened up the Kirinya-Jinja defence to set up Muwadda Mawejje, whose shot was saved before the ball fell to Mutyaba to drive home the second.

By then substitute Dan Ssewava could have scored twice but failed to test goalkeeper Charles Lukwago on both occasions after slips from Timothy Awany.

“We got our chances but failed to utilize them due to tension,” Kirinya coach Bogere Kikomeko noted.
