The 7th FSLL Annual General Meeting has unanimously passed a proposal to form a UPL Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO).

This was one of the key issues discussed at Ridar Hotel, Seeta-Mukono.

UPL Chairman Arinaitwe Rugyendo revealed that a meeting was earlier held to this effect with every team supporting the proposal.

“All teams were represented in a meeting to discuss this and many good ideas were exchanged,” said Rugyendo.

“We have formed a new SACCO, and I encourage players to come and join. We feel it’s very important especially for the active players and they have an opportunity to borrow money and go start businesses.

David Sserebe, a UPL Board member stated that; “The need of funds for individuals, business ventures, members during rainy days and for joint investments is one of the objectives for starting this SACCO.”

In other key issues discussed, the kick-off of the 2020/21 premier league dates have been extended from October 17 to a later date in November and so is the player registration which had ended on September 21.
