Onduparaka 1-1 Express

UPDF 3-0 Busoga United

Kyetume 1-1 Kitara

Hosts Onduparaka and 10-man Express both needed penalties to earn a point apiece but top-flight returning UPDF had no problem dispatching Busoga United 3-0 on Saturday.

Kyetume and StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) debutants Kitara played out the day’s second draw as Match Day two wrapped up with only two wins.

KCCA’s 2-1 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars is the other only win, coming on Thursday.

At Green Light Stadium in Arua, a Frank Kalanda penalty on 10 minutes looked to have given visitors Express the initiative.

But the hosts rallied and levelled matters on 67 minutes, also from the spot, through Man Of The Match Kabon Livin.

This was after Express defender Enock Walusimbi handled a goal-bound ball, earning himself a red card.

At Bombo Barracks, the UPDF – returning to top-flight football after spending a year down – were in an unforgiving mood as they saw off sorry Busoga United.

Brian Kayanja put the soldiers ahead on 58 minutes before another Brian, Kalumba this time, doubled the lead through a penalty kick on 64 minutes.

The visitors situation was further compounded when Douglas Muganga converted into his own net 15 minutes from time for UPDF’s 3-0 victory.

At Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru, Saaka Sharif scored for Kyetume and Brian Mululi for Kitara as the two settled for a draw.
