Former league champions Police have added experienced left back Richard Matovu and centre back cum midfielder Deus Bukenya.
The duo joins on two-year contracts with Matovu joining former reigning league champions Vipers SC while Bukenya returns to Uganda from a stint abroad from Botswana where he featured for Botswana XI.
The club posted on its social media pages confirming the two arrivals.
“We’re excited to confirm the arrival of defender Deus Bukenya on a 2-year deal. Renowned for his pinpoint diagonal passes, Bukenya joins us from Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar. He previously featured for Express & Prisons XI in Botswana.
“Richard Matovu Is a Cop! Silky left-back Richard Matovu has joined us from Vipers SC on a two-year deal. Renowned for his stamina & pace down the flanks, Matovu brings top-flight experience having featured for Arua Hill, Kyetume, and Vipers.”
The two will be vital for the Cops in the new season after they finished last season 11th on the log with 36 points.
It is also reported that the 2005 champions have also signed Said Kyeyune from Express FC and former Villa forward Charles Bbaale.
