Following an abysmal start to the season, Mbarara City have parted ways with coach Simon Peter Mugerwa.

The Ankole Lions are yet to win a game this season and have managed two points after six matches with the latest defeat being a 4-1 loss to Express.

“Mbarara City can confirm that a decision has been taken to relieve Simon Peter Mugerwa of his duties as head coach,” the statement partly reads.

According to the club, not only the head coach but also the other members of the technical team have been relieved of their duties.

Mbarara City will announce a new head coach in the coming days and the first task will be against Buhimba United Saints in the Western derby at Royal Park, Butema.
