Kitara and SC Villa battle for Stanbic Uganda Cup glory

Kitara and SC Villa lock horns in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru this Saturday.

The Royals, who dumped out defending champions Vipers in the semi-final want a second trophy in the competition while SC Villa are aiming to reach the 10^th triumph.

Villa’s last Uganda Cup glory was in 2015 when they won a replay 3-0 at Namboole against KCCA following abandonment of the Ntungamo match.

On the other hand, Kitara want only their second trophy in the competition after they won it in 2024.

The two sides’ meetings in the league ended in victory for either at their respective homes – Villa edging the tie at Kadiba 1-0 while Kitara won 2-0 at Royals Park in Butema.

The winner will earn a ticket to represent Uganda in the Caf Confederation Cup.
