KCCA now need to win two of their remain four league fixtures to confirm title defence thanks to a 1-0 win over JMC Hippos at Kakindu.
The log leaders, who now have 54 points, five better than second placed SC Villa won 1-0 against relegated but resilient Hippos thanks to a second half goal from substitute Derrick Nsibambi.
The 68th minute strike was assisted by leading scorer Geoffrey Sserunkuma to send the travelling fans into frenzy.
At Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, Express were humiliated in the derby as they lost 4-2 to Lweza.
The Red Eagles got the lead through Ibrahim Saddam Juma exquisite strike before Owen Kasule replied through a penalty as the first half ended with Lweza 2-1 on top.
The Oranje, who now move out of the relegation zone to 13th with 28 points scored twice again after recess with Juma Balinya scoring a brace.

In other games played, Kirinya Jinja SS picked a vital point off hosts URA in a 1-1 draw at Mehta Grounds, Lugazi.
Feni Ali Moses put the hosts in a lead inside five minutes but Joel Mulondo equalised in the 36th minute.
The draw leaves Ibrahim Kirya’s men fourth with 42 points while Kirinya Jinja SS are now on 28 points in 12th.
At Matugga, Bright Stars held visitors Vipers to a goalless draw which put a halt to the Venoms three game winning streak.
Miguel Duarte’s side stay 3rd on the table with 46 points while Bright Stars are now 9th with 30 points, same as Police in 10th but the former have a better goal difference.
