  • Vipers 1-1 Nouadhibou
  • Mogadishu City 1-2 Kitara

Our continental representatives Vipers and Kitara posted relatively contrasting results in the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup.

On Saturday, Vipers were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Nouadhibou at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

Hilary Mukundane gave the hosts an early lead before Sidi Ahmed Mohamed Al Abdi equalised for the visitors before the halftime whistle.

In the second half, Vipers thought they had won it but Ceaser Manzoki headed goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.

On Sunday, Kitara came from behind to beat ‘hosts’ Mogadishu 2-1 at Hoima City stadium with Jimmy Kalema scoring a brace.

The result gives the Royals advantage ahead of the second leg clash at the same stadium next week.

Kitara needs to avoid defeat to advance to the next preliminary round where Egypt’s Al Ahly is lurking while Vipers need a draw of more than one goal to advance with the winner between San Pedro and Rivers United of Ivory Coast and Nigeria respectively the opponent.
