BUL climbed to the summit of the 16-team StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a 1-0 win over Maroons at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, on Wednesday.

The game was temporarily halted in the 22nd minute due to heavy rain before play resumed seven minutes later.
BUL soon found their rhythm and struck the decisive goal in the 36th minute. A counter-attack led by Jerome Kirya released Martin Aprem, whose neat pass set up Ibrahim Mugulusi to calmly slot home.

Mugulusi’s composed finish proved enough to seal all three points and earn him the Man of the Match award as BUL reached four points from two matches, moving top of the tree. Maroons, meanwhile, remain winless after back-to-back games.
In Entebbe, top-flight debutants Entebbe UPPC produced a spirited fightback to claim their first ever league win, defeating Lugazi 2-1 at the Bugonga Fisheries Play Ground.
Freedom Mungudit had put Lugazi ahead in the 24th minute, punishing a defensive lapse, but Entebbe levelled on 63 minutes through Isa Bugembe’s finish from a corner.

Lugazi’s Freedom Mungudit celebrates his goal but it wasn’t enough as Entebbe UPPC came from behind to win 2-1.
With seven minutes left on the clock, Fazil Tumwine pounced to fire home the winner, sparking wild home celebrations.

The result handed Lugazi their first defeat of the season after an opening 3-1 victory over Calvary. Entebbe now sit fifth on three points, just below Lugazi, who are ahead on goal difference.
These were the only two matches played on Wednesday. Matchday Two continues on Thursday with two fixtures on the card.
