UPL Saturday results

BUL 3-0 Wakiso Giants

Express 1-0 URA

BUL seem to be getting back in the mood just in time after they easily saw off Wakiso Giants 3-0 at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Saturday.

An Alex Kitata brace and another goal from Jerome Kirya were enough to ensure BUL moved back into second position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log.

Ibrahim Mugulusi (pictured below) set up Kitata’s brace to claim the Pilsner Man of the Match accolade.

The result was especially crucial for BUL after the first round leaders struggled for most of the second period of the season.

Prior to the victory over Wakiso, the Jinja side had put out an encouraging performance in the goalless draw with table leaders Kitara in Masindi.

And before Saturday, BUL had gone five matches without a win and had fallen to fourth in the table.

BUL are now back fully into title contention with 43 points, one fewer than Kitara after 23 games and with six games left.

Wakiso Giants are 12th on 26 points, eight off the drop.

Elsewhere at Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, Isaac Wagoina’s solitary goal was enough for Express to down David Obua’s URA.

The Red Eagles goalkeeper, Yunus Abubakar’s impressive performance earned him the Pilsner Man of the Match accolade and his side three points.

Express moved one place up to eighth on 32 points while URA are a place and point below them.
