  • Vipers vs. African Stars – Kitende 7pm
  • Nairobi United vs. NEC – Nyayo 4pm

Uganda’s flag bearers in the Caf interclub competitions Vipers and NEC face with Namibia’s African Stars and Kenya’s Nairobi United in the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively aiming for progress.

The league champions are in a better position having won the first leg 1-0 in Cape Town and need to avoid defeat to advance to the first round.

Jacky Ivan Minnaert, Vipers SC coach has warned against complacency stating the tie is not over yet.

“It is not over yet so we need the fans to push us,” he said revealing he has no injury worries with a full squad available save for latest signing Usama Arafat.

For NEC, the task is a bit harder but one result will suffice for them and that is victory after they drew 2-2 at Nakivubo last weekend.

Hussein Mbalangu has spoken with confidence saying his side is capable of getting the desired result at Nyayo.

“In terms of general play, we were the better side in the first leg and we can win here because Nairobi United is not strong,” he stated.

He will do the job minus his main striker Cromwell Rwothomio who suffered a knock in the first game but Innocent Media, Emmanuel Ajo and Hudson Mbalire are available.
