Stalemates open Matchday 20
There was little to write home about in terms of goals and victories at the start of matchday 20 as all three games on International Women's Day failed to produce a winner.
Friday results
Maroons 0-0 Kitara
Soltilo Bright Stars 1-1 Mbarara City
URA 1-1 BUL
SC Villa versus Express – the big one this weekend -, Gaddafi at home to NEC and Busoga away to UPDF will hope to produce some thrills on Saturday after the previous day’s slow start.
There was little to write home about in terms of goals and victories at the start of matchday 20 as all three games on International Women’s Day failed to produce a winner.
StarTimes Uganda Premier League leaders, Kitara, could only draw goalless at Maroons.
The result was, however, enough to keep Kitara, now on 40 points, one ahead of BUL, who drew 1-1 with URA.
URA took an early lead in the second minute in Njeru through Norman Namanya but Amos Kirya levelled midway the first half to ensure a point on the road.
BUL have played a match fewer than leaders Kitara, while URA are nine points off the top in fifth place.
The day’s other game between Soltilo Bright Stars and Mbarara City in Kavumba could also only end in a one-all draw.
Sharif Nsereko’s third minute goal for the home side was nullified by Mbarara’s Henry Kitegenyi three minutes to half time and the scoreline never changed.
Mbarara and Bright Stars are level on 24 points in 10th and 11th respectively.
