According to the FUFA Club Licensing Committee, four clubs have fulfilled all the basic best practice criteria to be granted a full season licence, while the rest have done just enough to be allowed to compete pending some updates.
All 16 StarTimes Uganda Premier League clubs have been passed fit to play in the 2024/25 season, a development that coincided with the release of the new campaign fixtures.
This is refreshing news as it allows all stakeholders in the game to focus on the league kickoff next month. The league kicks off on September 13, with KCCA versus URA headlining Matchday One.

KCCA, Vipers SC, Kitara and URA are the four clubs that have satisfied all the basic requirements of the game’s best practice criteria and will rest assured that no further disturbances will occur to them for the season.
The other 12 also got their respective licences granted but with a caveat that pending items in the best practice criteria must be “fulfilled before the beginning of the second round of the season.”
