Mandela National stadium, Namboole 7pm

Uganda Cranes are aiming to keep their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying on track when they host Botswana on Friday on return to Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

The last time Uganda played at Namboole was in 2018 when they saw off Malawi 2-0 and will hope for more of the same when the Zebras of Botswana visit.

Coming into the game, Uganda beat Somalia 1-0 while Botswana won 1-0 against Guinea, a side that had beaten Cranes in the opening match.

UPL stars Allan Okello, Kenneth Ssemakula, Patrick Kakande, Umar Lutalo, Muhammad Shaban, Joel Sserunjogi and Ronald Ssekiganda among others could play a part if chosen by Paul Put.

With Algeria losing 2-1 to Guinea on Thursday, a win for Uganda will take them on same points with the two giants of African football ahead of the meeting with the Desert Foxes on Monday.

Uganda has lost just once in the last at Namboole in the last 19 years.

Cranes Probable XI:

Watenga (GK), Bwomono, Lwaliwa, Awany, Muleme, Ssemakula, Ssekiganda, Mutyaba, Bayo, Okello, Kayondo.
