Maroons 1-0 BUL

Express 3-1 Police

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League resumed on Wednesday with dramatic action at both venues as Express came from behind to defeat Police 3–1 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, while Maroons claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over BUL at Luzira Prisons Grounds.

At Luzira, Maroons denied BUL their long-awaited first win at the venue since 2018 thanks to Ivan Mayanja’s 21st-minute strike.

The midfielder reacted quickest after BUL failed to clear a cross, curling home from inside the area to hand the hosts the decisive lead.

The result lifts Maroons to 29 points, one behind BUL, who remain eighth on 30.

At Nakivubo, Police struck first through Saidi Kyeyune in the 16th minute, the midfielder unleashing a thunderbolt from Charles Bbaale’s assist to stun the hosts.

Express responded strongly and were level by the 34th minute when Yosia Kisa finished off John Asiimwe’s delivery.

Both sides maintained a high-tempo attacking contest after the break, but it was Express who found the cutting edge late on.

Henry Wamala fired the Red Eagles ahead in the 89th minute before Kenneth Kimera sealed victory in stoppage time with a clinical third goal.

Kimera was named Man of the Match as Express moved to 26 points in 10th place. Despite the defeat, Police stay sixth on 35 points. League action continues on Thursday.
