Seven-time champions Express host Kitara in the last of the two matches scheduled at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday for the 2026/27 season first header.
The Red Eagles have had a stop start campaign so far with a win and two defeats and face a side desperate to kick start their campaign after drawing their only game played in the league so far against SC Villa.
Express coach Morley Byekwaso describes the encounter as one that could determine the club’s future performances in the long season.
“We have so far lost two games and won one. We shall do our best to win the game. I think we will improve in all our set ups and tomorrow’s game will judge us on how the future will be,” Byekwaso told the media
“We can’t forget that we are playing a strong team with experienced players and coach but playing at home, we want to use the advantage and win.”
Kitara has only played one game this season and were held by record champions SC Villa before turning to Caf Confederation Cup where they have eliminated Mogadishu City of Somalia.
Since 2021, the two teams have met nine times with Kitara edging the contests with five wins [L4].
In the early kick off at 5pm, UPDF host Maroons with either seeking three points.
Maroons were beaten 2-1 by Blacks Power in their recent outing while UPDF drew goalless with Police.
