Fight for positions as penultimate premier league round ends

The penultimate round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League comes to end this Friday with sides fighting to finish in better position.

At Kakyeka, Mbarara City host seven-time champions Express with the Red Eagles aiming to climb into the eight.

Kaddu Badru’s charges are 9^th, one point and position off the top half with 39 points and face a side that is already safe from relegation.

Mbarara City, on 29 points in 13^th position will overtake Lugazi in 12^th position if they win.

The reverse fixture ended in a 3-1 victory for Express but the side has never a completed a double over the Ankole Lions.

At Hamz stadium, Nakivubo, URA host already relegated Wakiso Giants aiming to cement their 4^th position on the log.

A win for the tax collectors will confirm a top four finish for the side as they are on 49 points, two better than 5^th placed KCCA who have played one more game.

In the other premier league match, two relegated sides Mbale Heroes and Soltilo Bright Stars face off at the Municipal stadium in Mbale.
