First win for URA as BUL, KCCA share spoils

URA picked up their first win of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season as they beat Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 in Kavumba on Friday.

On the same day, BUL and KCCA battled to a one-all draw in Lugazi to leave only NEC the perfect side after the first two matches.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored URA’s goal on the stroke of half time for the Tax Collectors to move eighth on the log on three points, while Bright Stars are a place above the red zone with just one mark.

In Lugazi, BUL’s new home ground, the hosts fell behind to KCCA when Ashraf Mugume  scored on the hour, but hit back through Jerome Kirya 13 minutes later.

KCCA are second on four points, two behind leaders NEC, after two matches, while BUL are tenth on two marks from as many games.

At Kacheka Stadium, hosts Mbarara City could only fire blanks against visitors Police.

This was Mbarara’s first point in two matches and leaves them third from bottom, while Police are three places above on two marks.
