Kitara 4-0 UPDF

Kitara finally won, again, thrashing UPDF 4-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played at The Royals Park on Friday.

Fred Amaku, brace hero Kabon Living and Denis Omedi scored the hosts goals in Hoima for Kitara to register their first home win of the season.

This was Kitara’s only second win of the campaign after going seven straight matches without victory.

Kitara last won in September when they beat newcomers, Lugazi, 3-0 away on the opening day of the season. They had lost the last three coming into this.

Amaku dispatched a penalty in the 14th minute before Kabon doubled Kitara’s advantage on 25 minutes when the latter connected home David Ndihabwe’s ball.

UPDF had an opportunity to half the deficit but Kitara goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima saved Bernard Muwanga’s 36th minute penalty.

Kabon was again on hand to punish the visitors, completing his brace on the stroke of half time, with Ndihabwe again providing the assist.

Three-nil at half time and Kitara were cruising.

Omedi was, however, not to be left out of the party, the Cranes striker adding the fourth to mark Kitara’s return from obscurity, from which they lost six out of eight games coming into Friday.

Kitara’s only second win in nine matches lifted them two places up from the bottom of the log to 14th on seven points.

Their day’s victim, UPDF, are seven places up in seventh on 12 points, having won three matches, drawn and lost as many in nine.
