URA have named former immediate NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu as their new tactician until the end of the season.
The gaffer replaces Alex Isabirye who was axed and has since joined BUL who also parted ways with Abbey Kikomeko.
He will be assisted by Bastu Semuyaba as first assistant coach and Richard Kansole as second assistant coach. Muwadda Byuma has been named goalkeeper coach, while Farouk Osama takes charge as the fitness trainer.
In the same restructuring, interim head coach Edward Golola has been relieved of his duties. However, continuity remains within the backroom staff, with Manko Kawesa retained as deputy fitness trainer and Isma Sserebe continuing in his role as the team statistician.
Mbalangu was unveiled in Zanzibar where the club takes features in the Mapinduzi Cup and spoke with confidence..
“We are here to work and to bring back the success this great club deserves. I thank the management for the trust and the opportunity. We are ready to start immediately, beginning with the Mapinduzi Cup. Those who haven’t played URA FC yet should get scared — we are here to win,” Mbalangu said.
Mbalangu has previously coached at Banadir SC (now Mogadishu City) in Somalia, Blacks Power, Arua Hill, Mbarara City and most recently NEC FC.
He finds the club 10th in the premier league with 11 points from as many rounds played.
