URA have confirmed they are in the hunt for a new head coach after deciding against giving Hussein Mbalangu a permanent contract.
Mbalangu was handed over the reigns at URA midway the season after partying company with Alex Isabirye but he hasn’t done any better to deserve an extension.
“URA Football Club has officially commenced the process of recruiting a new Head Coach as preparations for the forthcoming season gather momentum,” read part of the statement on the URA website.
“The move follows the expiry of contracts for members of the club’s previous technical leadership structure led by Hussein Mbalangu at the conclusion of the season…,” it added.
However, Mbalangu and his staff also have an opportunity to apply as per the tax collectors’ statement.
“As part of the club’s commitment to a fresh and competitive recruitment process, all coaching positions are being reviewed, with former members of the technical team also invited to apply should they wish to be considered for the new season.”
URA had arguably their worst campaign in premiership history finishing in 11th position with 31 points.
