The StarTimes Uganda Premier League first round comes to end on Tuesday with five fixtures on card.

Second placed NEC make a long trip to the East to face hosts and newly promoted Mbale Heroes.

Hussein Mbalangu’s men need to win to keep the gap between them and leaders Vipers to just one point while Mbale Heroes are bottom of the log with only nine points.

At Kakyeka, KCCA will hope to return to third position, seven points adrift of the Venoms when they visit Mbarara City at Kakyeka.

The Kasasiro who have faltered in the last outings are on 24 points but face a hard task against the Ankole Lions who they have never beaten at their own backyard.

Mbarara City are on 14 points, just one position above the red zone and need to win to improve survival chances.

Champions SC Villa are also away to Butema where on form Kitara is lurking.

They come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over URA on Saturday which saw them end a four-match winless streak and a win could move them into top five.

On the other hand, Kitara, 9th on the log with 18 points will displace the Jogoos and probably climb into 5th position.

Elsewhere, BUL and Wakiso Giants lock horns at Najjembe with the Purple Sharks targeting their first win in over 12 matches.

A win will see them leave the bottom three for the first time in a long time while BUL, 8th on the log with 19 points could move to 6th place.

In the late kick off, URA host Police at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo with either targeting to end the first round with a win.

URA lost their last outing, falling to Villa at Luzira which left them 6th with 21 points while Police draw goalless with KCCA and they are 9th with 18 points.
