KCCA 4–0 UPDF
KCCA returned to winning ways with a commanding 4–0 victory over UPDF at the MTN–Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Tuesday, easing pressure after a brief dip in form.
The Kasasiro Boys had gone two matches without a win – losing to Police and drawing with Maroons – a run that cost them top spot and drew scrutiny on head coach Brian Ssenyondo.
Against a side they have traditionally dominated, KCCA delivered a statement performance.
Ssenyondo made three changes to his starting XI, with Hassan Muhamood stepping into central defence, while Rogers Mugisha and Brian Jjara were handed starts. The response was immediate.
Man of the Match Sammy Ssebadduka opened the scoring in the 11th minute, turning home Herbert Achayi’s low delivery to set the tone.
KCCA maintained control and doubled their advantage on 30 minutes when Joel Sserunjogi converted from the penalty spot after Shafik Nana Kwikiriza was fouled in the area.
Kwikiriza, operating just behind the striker, remained influential throughout, while UPDF struggled to offer a threat in attack.
The visitors’ task became steeper six minutes into the second half as Ssebadduka struck again to make it 3–0.
Substitute Alpha Ssali completed the rout in stoppage time, registering his first goal in KCCA colours.
The result lifts KCCA to second on 30 points, three behind leaders Vipers, while UPDF remain second from bottom on 11 points.
