The penultimate fixtures of the first round in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League start on Tuesday with five matches on card.
At the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, 13-time champions KCCA host UPDF eager to end a two-game winless streak.
They lost to Police 2-0 at Kiira and then fired blanks away to Maroons in Luzira.
They will move top of the table at least for hours with a win and Brian Ssenyondo says they must now beat visiting UPDF.
“It is not business as usual because the club has not won a match since the beginning of the year,” Ssenyondo told the pre-match press briefing. “We are here tomorrow to see that we win the game,” he added.
“They got a goalless draw here last season and they will be pumped to see they get a point or three from us. But there are no excuses, we need to just win this game.”
UPDF head coach Alex Gitta has sounded confident and believes they can upset KCCA at Lugogo.
“Our top most strategy is to play an entertaining game and win a game,” he stated. “Looking at our previous game, we created clear cut chances but didn’t convert. We have worked on the finishing and hopefully, we create the chances and utilize them,” he added.
Last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a goalless draw but they have not won a fixture against the Kasasiro since 2016.
In Midigo, four-time champions URA visit bottom placed Calvary aiming to end a five-match losing streak.
Hussein Mbalangu’s men are on 11 points while Calvary are on 3 points.
In Entebbe, hosts Entebbe UPPC host stubborn Maroons in a huge test as they aim to stretch their decent run.
They are on 26 points in 5th place, four behind leaders Vipers while Maroons, who held KCCA in the previous game are 7th on 16 points.
Elsewhere, Buhimba United Saints host NEC in a fixture that the visitors need to win to ease pressure on coach Badru Kaddu.
The Bugolobi based side are on 16 points in 8th place while Buhimba are 11th with three points adrift.
Lugazi, also desperate to live the bottom sides host on form BUL who have won twice under Alex Isabirye with the Jinja based side 7th in 16th position while Lugazi is in the bottom two with 11 points.
In the late kick off, Police visit Vipers in the top of the table clash at Kitende.
