KCCA renew acquaintances with Vipers at Lugogo on Sunday in the late off amongst the four premier league fixtures on match day seventeen.
The Kasasiro were beaten 1-0 by NEC in their last match while table leaders Vipers, on 37 points, 13 ahead of their day’s rivals beat URA 2-0 at Kitende on the league’s return from a long break.
Several KCCA stars are out including captain Julius Poloto, Usama Arafat, Peter Magambo, Steven Munguchi and Emmanuel Anyama but have right back Gavin Kizito back after serving a one match suspension in the defeat to NEC.
On the other hand, Vipers welcome back Derrick Ndahiro from a two-match suspension following a red card he got in the win over UPDF but centre back Rogers Torach is suspended after accumulation of three yellow cards.
In the reverse fixture, Ashraf Mugume scored a late equaliser to earn KCCA a point at Kitende.
At Kavumba, second placed NEC will move top of the standings for at least four hours if they beat hosts Police in a 4pm kick off.
NEC are buoyant after a 1-0 win over KCCA in their last outing while Police lost by the same score line at Lugazi.
Hussein Mbalangu’s men are second on the table with 36 points while the Cops are 11th with 18 points.
The reverse fixture at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo ended in a goalless stalemate.
In Lugazi, hosts Lugazi take on Wakiso Giants in a relegation six-pointer.
The newly promoted side managed by Steven Bogere beat Police 1-0 in their last game and will hope to build on that as they tend move further away from the relegation monster.
At the moment, they sit 13th with 17 points, four points ahead of the Purple Sharks who drew 1-1 with defending champions SC Villa on Tuesday.
The first-round clash at Kabaka Kyabaggu ended in a goalless draw but victory for either will go a long way in determining their fate at the end of the season.
In the other game of the day, Mbarara City will be at Kakyeka facing UPDF in yet another relegation fight.
The Ankole Lions edged bottom of the table Mbale Heroes 1-0 courtesy of Henry Kitegenyi while the army side held on form Kitara nil-nil at Bombo.
