- Pajule Lions Vs Pakwach Young Stars – Pajule 3pm
BUL coach Abbey Kikomeko and KCCA’s Abdallah Mubiru are optimistic of progress to the semi-final when their sides lock horns in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter finals at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Friday.
BUL are unbeaten against KCCA this season winning one and drawing as many league meetings.
Speaking to his club media, Kikomeko said he is confident his side will do the job and progress beyond the stage reached last season.
“I know they will give it everything but we also want to progress beyond this stage after we were eliminated by Police last season,” said Kikomeko.
“We have face twice so far winning 1-0 here and drawing goalless away but this will be a different game altogether and we must win it,” he added.
For Mubiru, the past meetings this season are now behind them and want to create a new chapter.
“It’s not about history,” he said. “The lads are ready and aware of the task ahead of us,” he added.
“It’s a tough game against a good side but we are more than ready as we seek to continue our journey in this competition.”
BUL have no injury worries with all players available for selection according to Kikomeko while KCCA have to wait on Ashraf Mugume fitness situation.
In the other game on Saturday, Pajule Lions host Pakwach Young Stars in the other quarter finals with Kitara and Vipers clashing on Sunday.
NEC are already in the semi-finals after eliminating last season’s finalists Police FC 2-0 on Wednesday.
