Neither Kitara nor Vipers will want to drop points in a crucial game on Friday as they lock horns at Masindi in the premier league.

The game is a repeat of the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter final last Sunday that ended with the Venoms losing out on penalties after a 2-2 draw after extra time.

A similar result for the neutrals will be much welcome but that’s the least the two teams can afford to take from the tie.

Brian Ssenyondo expects same resistance from the champions whose only hope for silverware this season remains the league.

“We just played recently in the Uganda Cup and it wasn’t an easy match,” said Ssenyondo. “We come into this game also knowing it will be hard because it decides a lot on the table position,” he added.

“And we want to keep our position and points difference and we have prepared well and corrected the mistakes we made in the last game.”

Only two points separate the two sides with Kitara on top of the log with 44 points while third placed Vipers are on 42 with a game in hand.

Vipers are unbeaten against Kitara in open play in all competitions – winning all three league meetings.
