- Lugazi stadium, Najjembe 4pm
Lugazi FC head coach Sadiq Ssempigi is confident of guiding his side to their first win in the premier league when they host Kitara at Najjembe in the only game on Saturday.
The league newcomers face a side that is among the favourites to win this year’s title having finished fourth last season but triumphed in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
“Kitara is a very good team and a very tough challenger. They have had very good games in the preseason, I watched most of their games in the FUFA Super8 and the confederations cup,” Lugazi FC coach Sempigi stated.
“They are very ambitious, play well and they have fared well in the market – they really have good players who I think will give us a very tough challenge.”
“But I want to accept that we are at home and we know the kind of opponent we are going to face. We are going to work hard to make sure we answer most of the questions they will bring. We believe they are going to be a tough team but my players are ready to take up the challenge and deliver the best.”
The hosts will look to maintain their good home record which saw them defeated only once last season but will hope Sam Ssemugugu and company are lethal.
At the back, they will hope to keep the attacking duo of Denis Omedi and Jude Ssemugabi silent through the ninety minutes.
