  • Vipers SC 3-0 Iganga Young

Livingstone Mbabazi was unavailable on the touchline as Vipers beat Iganga Young 3-0 at Kitende to reach the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Karim Watambala scored a first half penalty after Mauritanian Ekbad Saleem was fouled in the area before the latter and substitute Fazil Tumwine added a goal each in the second half.

But the biggest highlight of the day was the absence of Mbabazi with his assistant Richard Wasswa taking charge of the game.

The venoms haven’t released any statement on the issue which left questions on whether he was sick or simply AWOL.

Vipers, the reigning cup holders join KCCA, Kitara, BUL and NEC among the top tier sides in the last eight of the competition.
