KCCA 0-1 NEC

BUL 1-1 Express

Muzamiru Mutyaba returned to Lugogo to punish former side, KCCA, as NEC beat the hosts 1-0 on Thursday to go to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The midfielder struck the winner on 20 minutes and NEC valiantly defended it and with it went KCCA’s eight-match unbeaten streak.

Both KCCA and NEC play their home games from the MTN Omondi Stadium, and none had lost a home match coming into this one.

As a matter of fact, this was the first time KCCA were losing a match this season and with that, everyone of the 16 teams has now lost a match.

NEC, who have now won six of their nine matches, move top on 19 points, one ahead of KCCA, who have won five.

In Kavumba, Nicholas Fredrick Kigozi scored from a direct free kick 17 minutes from full time as visitors Maroons to beat Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0.

The win saw Maroons jump a massive five places up to sixth on 12 points, while Bright Stars remained third from bottom on just six.

Elsewhere, Express scored one minute from full time to rescue a point at BUL.

Walter Ochora gave the hosts the lead on 42 minutes, but Samuel Ssenyonjo equalised at the death to ensure a 1-1 draw.

BUL remain fourth on 13 points, with Express a place below them just because of an inferior goal difference. Action continues on Friday.
