NEC football club rewarded the club’s best performers in a stellar 2024/25 season that earned them a chance for a continental debut in the Caf Confederation Cup next season.

In a colorful dinner at Silver Springs, Bugolobi, the club awarded several players with defender Jacob Okao winning the MVP award.

Okao was outstanding through the season at the heart of defence and it explains why NEC conceded just 19 goals, only Vipers let in less (15).

Paul Mucureezi won the gong for the best forward player following his nine goals and six assists and was the club’s joint top scorer alongside Cromwell Rwothomio with South Sudan right back Geriga Atendele winning the defender of the season award while Gadafi Wahab’s volley against Kitara at Royal Park Butema clinched the goal of the season.

Besides individual awards, each member of the playing staff and all coaches were rewarded with heavy envelopes.

The event was attended by Lieutenant General James Mugira, the CEO National Enterprise Economy, the mother body of the team, former AIGP and current General Manager NEC Luwero Industries Maj. General Sabiiti Muzeyi, club chairman Brian Buhanda and FUFA 3rd Vice President Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
