NEC have an opportunity to open a four points gap at the top if they beat URA at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday.

Hussein Mbalangu’s men, top of the table with 22 points are two points ahead of second placed Vipers who are not in action until Saturday at Bright Stars.

NEC lost their first visit to the day’s venue falling 2-1 to Express but against the tax collectors, they will hope for better as the hosts have only managed one win at home.

Alex Isabirye’s men, who are on 14 points however understand that beat NEC will bring them into the title mix.

At Kakyeka, resurgent Maroons will hope to make it four matches on the bounce without defeat when they visit Mbarara City.

The two sides are separated by one point with Mbarara City 11th on 12 points while Maroons are a place above with 13.
