The StarTimes Uganda Premier league returns from the international break with two huge fixtures on Thursday.
The biggest game will be at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo where second placed NEC host traditional giants Express FC under the lights.
NEC on 44 points, five points behind leaders Vipers want to win and cut the lead as the Venoms are not in action until Saturday when they visit champions SC Villa.
Hussein Mbalangu’s men went into the break beaming with confidence after a 3-1 win at Maroons.
In Express, they face a side low on confidence after successive defeats and have won just once in five league matches.
They did beat NEC in the reverse fixture at Nakivubo, inflicting the first defeat of the season on the Bugolobi based side.
Express are on 28 points in 7th place but could climb into top five with a win.
In the other league match on the afternoon, Kitara make a trip to Kavumba to face Police with revenge on card after the Cops beat them in the first round.
Kitara, who are winless in the past two matches are 6th with 29 points while Police, 2-1 winners over Express before the break are 12th on 23 points.
