The second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League begins on Thursday with three fixtures on card following a two weeks’ break.

At Luzira, Maroons host Kitara in a fixture they target for a return to winning ways.

The Prison Warders have not tasted victory since beating Express 4-0 at Luzira on December 17 last year.

They have lost once and drawn three successive matches and find themselves 9th on the table with 18 points.

On the other hand, Kitara were in good form by the time the first round ended with no defeat in the last four matches.

The Royals are in 5th place with 29 points and won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Butema.

At Kiira Road, former champions Police host Lugazi aiming to bounce back from two winless fixtures when they lost to Vipers 4-2 and drew goalless with Mbarara City.

The Cops, early pacesetters must win to remain in the conversation for the title as they are now on 28 points.

Lugazi are fighting for their lives and will draw inspiration from their goalless draw with Villa at the end of the first round.

Elsewhere, bottom of the table clash between Mbarara City and Calvary takes centre stage in the relegation battle at Rwamanja stadium in Kamwenge.
